Dental prostheses are artificial tooth applications that are individually prepared by using artificial materials to protect tissue health, eliminate aesthetic concerns and increase the comfort of patients.
Dental prostheses can be applied by different methods considering the patient’s tooth structure. Removable denture, fixed denture, complete denture, implant-supported denture, precision attachment denture and partial denture are the prosthetic procedures.

Dental Prosthesis Procedure
Fixed Dentures: This is the process of completing teeth with excessive material loss or missing teeth through the use of materials that are compatible with their texture and color. When fixed dentures are applied, anesthesia is first administered and the tooth is minimized. Then, dental bridge or crown is performed. Fixed dentures cannot be attached and removed by the patient.
Removable Dentures: Retainers that can be attached and removed by the patient and replace missing teeth are called removable dentures. There are different types of removable dentures as complete denture, overdenture and partial denture. Removable dentures are determined according to the needs and expectations of the patient.
- Complete Dentures: Prosthetic procedures that are colloquially known as “false teeth” are complete dentures. If there are no natural teeth left in the patient’s mouth and the jawbones of the patient are not suitable for dental implant surgery, complete dentures become prominent.
- Partial Dentures: If the patient’s natural teeth remain, partial dentures are activated when the missing teeth in the mouth are partial. Partial dentures made of one-piece casting or acrylic are attached to the jawbone by means of rests or hooks.
- Implant-Supported Dentures: Implant-supported dentures that can be placed as removable or fixed meet the stability needs of patients. Implant-supported dentures have a visually complementary effect and are designed considering the person’s smile aesthetics.
- Precision Attachment Dentures: Precision attachment dentures are preferred for patients who have a certain amount of missing teeth, because the dentures are not attached to the jawbone by the holders and thus the aesthetic appearance of the patients is not damaged.
